Aegean Airlines (A3) – implements charged seats as an ancillary service

Published on: Feb 02 2018 by Stuart Oxby

As of the 1st February, Aegean Airlines (A3) now offers you the possibility to book their chargeable seats via Amadeus.

These chargeable seats are available on A3 pure and A3/OA operating flights in the economy cabin where seats are marked as chargeable and can be selected from the seat map. Passengers will be able to select Extra Legroom and Upfront seats.

Aegean Airlines Gold Frequent Flyer Number (FFN) holders will be able to select Standard seats for free in individual PNRs. Their companions (if booked within same PNR) can also select standards seats, but will need to pay for other seats.

Chargeable seats are offered on selected aircraft types and routes.

When booking a seat from a cryptic/native seat map, the chargeable seats are shown by the “L” indicator for Extra Legroom and “V” indicator for Upfront Seats on the seat map (as below).

To price the ancillary services and store a pricing record, use the ‘FXG’ entry.
