Credit Card Concealment in Amadeus Profiles

Published on: May 09 2011 by Sara Grocott

Credit Card and CVV numbers stored in Profile Notes, Prestored Entries and Priority Fields (PN, PPS, PPR) will be concealed in Customer Profiles from 29th June 2011.  This will impact both the Traveller and Frequent Flyer Profiles.

This enhancement is required for PCI-DSS compliance, which guarantee customer credit card security.

Below is the system behaviour if the CCD (Credit Card Display) indicator is set to “N” (found in the user profile):

When a credit card number is stored in Profile Notes, Prestored Entries or Priority Fiends (PN, PPS, PPR) it will be displayed in a concealed format in the Customer Profile (only the last four digits of the credit card number will be displayed, the previous digits will be replaced by X’s).  When a sequence of three or four digits follows “CVV”, “*CV” or “CVC” or a Credit Card Number, it will be considered as a CVV (Credit Verification Value) and will be concealed as well (replacing the verification numbers with 9’s).

If the CCD (Credit Card Display) indicator is set to “Y” then none of the digits will be concealed.

This change has been made to ensure that Profiles are PCI-DSS compliant.
